FSU Real Estate students selected to compete in the Villanova Real Estate Challenge
The FSU Real Estate program is pleased to announce that two teams, appropriately named the Garnet Team and the Gold Team, will participate in the 2019 Villanova Real Estate Challenge. Competition participants include teams comprised of students from many of the top undergraduate real estate programs across the country, as well as judges and sponsors representing leading real estate firms from all areas of the commercial real estate industry.
Each spring semester, the FSU Real Estate program competes in this national real estate development case competition hosted by Villanova University. Competition rules previously allowed only one team per university, now each university may submit up to two teams, both eligible to advance. This allows more deserving students the opportunity to learn beyond the traditional classroom. The Garnet Team and the Gold Team are advised by Ryan Dietz, Managing Director of the FSU Real Estate Center, who encourages the students to think outside the box and utilize all available resources.
Once the case is distributed, each team will have only four days to construct a suitable development project and presentation, incorporating all aspects of real estate development from financing to design. The top 16 teams will be announced February 11. These semi-finalists will be invited to Philadelphia to present their cases to a panel of real estate executives. The winning teams will be announced April 5, with cash prizes for first, second and third place.
